Probiotics for a healthy immune system

A lot is happening in the world, and as a result, our lifestyles have undergone significant changes:

  • "Constant" stress is felt by more than double the number of Canadians during the pandemic than before, which can often lead to digestive issues.
  • We are not eating as healthily as before the pandemic.
  • We are more sedentary.

Des probiotiques pour un système immunitaire en santé

A lot is happening in the world and, as a result, our lifestyle has gone through significant changes:

  • “Constant” stress is felt by more than double the number of Canadians during the pandemic than before, which can often lead to digestive issues.
  • We are not eating as healthy as before the pandemic.
  • We are more sedentary.

With this in mind, Genuine Health was motivated to create two new probiotics to help you through this time.

Why probiotics? Because our gut microbiome is home to up to 80% of our immune system. A healthy microbiome is critical to health at every stage of life. Having a robust and diverse microbial ecosystem is absolutely essential for immune defense. Microbes tirelessly communicate, both among themselves and with immune cells, allowing frontline defenders to effectively identify, target, and neutralize potential threats.

To support the immune system: NEW advanced gut health probiotics DEFENSE

We were inspired to create the ultimate immune-supporting probiotics. First, we wanted to ensure they were multi-strain, since multi-strain formulas have been clinically proven to be significantly more effective than their single-strain counterparts. We wanted to prepare probiotics that mimic this natural diversity, making way for synergies between the strains to work their magic!

Next, we wanted to ensure that this formula was balanced. Balance is a key principle to keep in mind when looking to support your gut! As with any ecosystem, balance allows for each unique species to coexist. From a formulation perspective, this means creating a product that is not overloaded with one or two species. By creating a product that is optimized for both its diversity and balance, we can fully benefit from a thriving and diverse microbial ecosystem.

Finally, we wanted to create a product that was anchored by clinically researched strains proven to support a highly functional immune system. advanced gut health probiotics DEFENSE are the first Genuine Health probiotics to include two of the most exciting immune-supporting probiotic strains on the market: Lactobacillus Plantarum HEAL9 and Lactobacillus Paracasei 8700:2. In combination (and at the exact dosages included in DEFENSE), these strains have been able to significantly reduce the incidence of common colds by up to 54%. What’s more, if a participant did get sick, they were able to reduce the duration of their sickness by an average of two days.

Pairing this research with the power of diversity and balance found across the entire advanced gut health probiotic line, results in a product that is highly tailored for maximal immune support.

To support digestive stress: NEW advanced gut health probiotics HIGH POTENCY

When our microbiome is in disrepair, so is our immune system, often characterized by a lack of microbial diversity and an increase in harmful inflammation. As such, our immune system is distracted, diminishing its ability to effectively handle threats.

Fortunately, we are not without solutions! Largely due to their action on the gut, probiotics have been shown to help reduce key markers of inflammation in the gut, as well as relieve common symptoms of a distressed gut, including abdominal pain, gas, and bloating!

advanced gut health probiotics HIGH POTENCY are our biggest probiotics to date in terms of CFUs! We wanted to create probiotics with optimal reparative potential, directly formulated to help support microbiome health during times of increased stress and disruption.

Building on a diverse and balanced foundation of 15 unique strains, we then selected probiotic species that have specifically been shown to support microbiome recovery. This includes Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus gasseri, which help restore healthy gut function and reduce gastrointestinal discomfort [3,4]. Next, we increased the amount of Lactobacillus plantarum, which have been shown to help reduce symptoms of gut discomfort, especially during antibiotic treatment [5,6].

Our immune system needs support now more than ever, and it’s through the microbiome where we have the greatest chance of doing so. We are excited to introduce two powerful new allies in the advanced gut health probiotic family, DEFENSE and HIGH POTENCY, providing some much-needed stability in a time of change and disruption. Working to strengthen our immune system is a small, but significant step we can take to regain some control over our health and well-being.
